Liquid EPDM Roof Coatings are aftermarket products designed to seal leaks, or provide a heat reflective or aesthetic function over your existing roof surface. There are many products on the market ranging from asphalt based products, rubber solutions [Hypalon, Neoprene, and Silicone], water based Acrylic and other emulsions, and chemically curing systems such as urethanes and now EPDM Liquid Rubber. Choosing the right product the first time is important and requires some knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses of each. Liquid Rubber is not a RUBBER-LIKE product; it is 100% EPDM rubber. The most widely used liquid coatings for example in the RV and trailer industry are Acrylic elastomeric products. These are easy to use, have good weather ability and cure quickly in warm weather. Their weakness, however, comes from the fact that they are water-based emulsions which make them vulnerable to sudden showers or freezing temperatures soon after application, and they have inherently poor resistance to ponding water. These kinds of situations might only result in minor cosmetic surface distortions to the Liquid Roof while the acrylic coating-based products could be partially or totally destroyed. Another drawback for the Acrylic products is that they do not work over single ply EPDM membranes. These units are now experiencing chalking and shrinkage problems. EPDM Liquid Rubber is the best and also the most cost effective product for solving this problem and you can use it for Residential or Commercial applications it does not contain any corrosion inhibiting pigments but it is such an effective moisture barrier that it may be directly applied over light rust without a primer.

Liquid Roof/Liquid Rubber is a true EPDM rubber and therefore could be described as a liquid version of the single ply EPDM membrane which has established an outstanding performance record of over 30 years. The components of Liquid Roof/Liquid Rubber have two unique features not found in any other rubber. First, it is unaffected by ultraviolet and ozone, and second, it can tolerate continuous exposure at temperatures over 300 degrees F and minus 40. The latter feature is also what gives EPDM rubber the best aging properties [retains flexibility longer] of all the elastomers and is a super-strong, water resistant elastomeric rubber roof coating that can withstand extreme temperatures of heat and cold. Liquid Roof/Rubber provides more benefits than any other liquid coating on the market. It may be applied on roof decks, metal roofs, gutters, structural steel, air conditioner enclosures, cooling towers, galvanized steel, unit heater flues, smoke stacks and chimneys, fiberglass and non porous masonry surfaces, Excellent for wood, canvas, cement, or metal roof repair over large surface areas. It does not require a top coat, primer or additional applications like many other roofing products.

Liquid Roof/Liquid Rubber is the only liquid EPDM product on the market. Liquid Roof/Liquid Rubber has superior performance advantages and nearly total absence of conditions which can result in disastrous failures. All roofs have some portions that will pond water. People in the Gulf States may experience sudden afternoon showers and those in the North experience the rapid temperature drops late in the day during spring and fall. These kinds of situations might only result in minor cosmetic surface distortions to the Liquid Roof/Liquid Rubber while the acrylic coating-based products could be partially or totally destroyed.
